What We Do Not Take On
We work on residential garage doors, springs, openers, tracks, cables, and panels. We don't do commercial overhead doors, gate operators, or fence work, and we won't quote a full structural rebuild over the phone if the header or jamb looks compromised - that needs a carpenter before it needs us.
Houses in Blaine mostly went up between 1957 and 2003, with the median around 1980, so a lot of the torsion springs and openers we see are original equipment on single-car openings that don't match what's stocked today. If your door is one of those older setups, we'll tell you straight whether a repair is worth doing or whether the hardware is far enough gone that replacement is the honest answer. We won't pretend a 40-year-old track can be shimmed back to spec just to make a sale.
We also can't give a firm number sight unseen for anything involving a bent panel, a door that's come off its tracks, or an opener with wiring damage. Those jobs vary too much house to house. What we can do on the phone is give you a real range once we know the door type, the symptom, and roughly how old the setup is.

Who Does the Work
The person who answers your call is the person working out of the truck that comes to your door - there's no call center routing you to a subcontractor. We quote based on what you tell us and confirm it once we're looking at the actual spring size, track type, and opener model, because two doors that look the same from the street can have completely different hardware behind the panel.
We cover Blaine and work out to roughly a 14-mile radius: Circle Pines, Spring Lake Park, Mounds View, Lino Lakes, Fridley, North Oaks, Arden Hills, New Brighton, Centerville, Columbus, Andover, Columbia Heights, Champlin, Brooklyn Center, Anoka, St. Anthony, Osseo, Vadnais Heights, Roseville, Little Canada, Robbinsdale, Crystal, East Bethel, Dellwood, Falcon Heights, New Hope, Dayton, Ramsey, Oak Grove, and Mahtomedi. Circle Pines sits about 3 miles out and Spring Lake Park about 4, so if you're in either one, the quote covers the same drive time as a call from inside Blaine itself. neighborhood, just over a mile NNE of our shop on Northtown Dr, is close enough that we can usually swing by same day to look before quoting a full replacement.

The Short Version
Call us at (763) 280-3851 or stop by 398 Northtown Dr, Blaine, MN 55434. Tell us the door's symptom - won't open, makes noise, came off track, spring snapped - and roughly how old it is. That's enough for a phone estimate.
What we can't price without seeing the door: anything with visible rot or bending in the track, a double door where only one spring broke (the other is usually close behind and we'll check it before quoting), and any opener issue that might be wiring rather than the unit itself.
Winters here sit at the severe end of the cold band, and that's what wears out bottom seals and cheap rollers faster than almost anything else we see. If your symptom started right after a hard cold snap, mention it - it narrows down what we're likely dealing with before we even get the truck loaded. A quote that accounts for that up front saves you a second visit.

FAQ
Common questions
Do you work on the older one-piece doors, not just newer sectional ones?
Yes. A chunk of the housing here was built before 1970 and still has the original one-piece door on side-mounted track with a stretch spring. That hardware is different from a modern sectional door's torsion setup, and we carry parts for both, though some older stretch-spring parts take longer to source than common torsion sizes.
Why did my spring break on a cold morning when it's been fine all winter?
Torsion springs are under constant tension, and cold steel is more brittle than warm steel. A spring that's already near the end of its cycle life is more likely to let go on the first sharp cold snap after a mild stretch than during the dead of winter, because the metal's been flexing at a different rate all along.
How far out do you actually come?
We run close-in calls fastest, within a few miles. We also reach towns out to roughly fourteen miles, but a same-day window on the far edge of that range isn't as reliable as one a few miles out, especially late in the day. We'll tell you the honest window when you call instead of promising something we can't hit.
My opener is original to the house. Is that a problem?
If the house was built before the early 1990s, the opener may predate current photo-eye sensor standards, which is a real safety gap even if the opener still runs fine day to day. We'll point it out if we see it on a service call, but we won't push a replacement on you for an opener that's otherwise working.
